Terms of Service

Effective 24 July 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Rakshith R (“BugClip”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the BugClip service at bugclip.dev, including the dashboard and the embeddable widget (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. What BugClip is

BugClip lets you embed a widget on your websites so your users can report bugs with a screen recording or screenshot. Alongside the capture, the widget collects technical context — console logs, JavaScript errors, failed network requests, a click trail, and browser environment — and delivers each report to your dashboard, and optionally to Slack. What the widget does and does not capture is described in our Privacy Policy.

2. Your account

  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
  • You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
  • You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, and you may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service to break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
  • deploy the widget to capture data covertly, or on properties you don't control or have permission to instrument;
  • upload or transmit malware, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data;
  • resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service except as we expressly permit;
  • probe, scrape, or overload the Service, or circumvent its plan limits.

4. Your data and your end users

When you install the widget, you decide what pages it runs on and whose interactions it can capture. As between you and us, that captured data is yours, and you are responsible for it — including giving your end users any notice and obtaining any consent required by the laws that apply to you and to them. You must not use the widget to capture data from people who haven't been given appropriate notice. Our role and obligations in handling this data are set out in the Privacy Policy.

5. Plans, billing, and the merchant of record

  • The Service is offered on a free tier and paid subscription tiers. Plan features and prices are shown on the pricing section and in your dashboard.
  • Paid subscriptions are sold and processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record (the reseller and seller of record) for those transactions. Paddle handles payment, invoicing, and applicable sales tax or VAT. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms.
  • Paid plans renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals.
  • Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
  • If a payment fails or a subscription lapses, paid features pause. We don't delete your projects, reports, or settings when this happens — they resume when the subscription does.

6. Intellectual property

We own the Service, including the widget code, dashboard, and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service while your account is in good standing. You own your account content and the reports captured through your account.

7. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third parties you choose to connect, such as Slack for report delivery and Google for sign-in. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we're not responsible for them.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that captured data will be complete or accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BugClip will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose.

10. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from your Account page in the dashboard (or by emailing us). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits) will survive.

11. Changes

We may update the Service and these terms. If we make a material change, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law rules. Note that your purchase transaction is separately governed by Paddle's terms as the merchant of record.
